Late last month, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) released the first draft

of a proposed revision to the current ENERGY STAR product specification for lamps (light bulbs).

The EPA hopes to continue the market transformation of efficient lighting by incorporating spec

changes that allow expanded product selection and increased production flexibility.
